About the school

Welcome to a new pleasant workplace, we are a school that is growing and therefore looking forward to having more colleagues. Here, there are over 280 students enrolled in vocational programs. Here you will teach a nice mix of students with a lot of creativity. The students are enrolled in 9 different programs, with our three largest being health care, automotive, and child and leisure. We work a lot together across professions and the common courses, which makes the collegial collaboration significant.

Praktiska Gymnasiet in Kalmar offers students a concept where theory is combined with practical exercises both inside the school and out in workplaces. At Praktiska, we set high standards for ourselves to create the best conditions for an educational and enjoyable training experience. Your mission

The position is a permanent employment with an 80% working degree starting from 25-08-12. You will teach and mentor our students in the Sales and Service and Hotel and Tourism programs, and together with other colleagues, you will be part of a work team. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the subject with students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues. In addition to vocational-specific tasks, you, like other teachers at the school, will have tasks such as mentoring, and together you and your colleagues will coach the students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Praktiska Gymnasiet. We primarily communicate through Schoolsoft and work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who wants to help shape tomorrow's skilled and ambitious employees in Sales, Trade, and Tourism. We are looking for a licensed vocational teacher, but we also welcome applications from those with many years of professional experience in relevant fields. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. If you lack a teaching license, you have the opportunity to apply for the position. In such cases, you and the school's principal will jointly develop a plan for how you can become licensed in the shortest possible time. The tasks include contact with the business community since a large part of the students' study time consists of workplace-based learning (APL), and therefore good communication with employers is an asset.
